Executive Spotlight: Gregory William Richter, CTO & Managing Director of Revolution Microelectronics

Greg Richter has over thirty years of electronic design and systems engineering experience. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Richter has lived off-grid with his own hydro-electric power, built and flown his own Cozyjet single-turbine jet airplane, and revolutionized both aircraft instrumentation and automated agriculture. His designs can be found in retail stores, recording studios, radio stations, aircraft, and ships with a select few still orbiting overhead.

Most successful professional accomplishment before cannabis: I started the glass-cockpit revolution in light aircraft, autopilot and controls featured in the FAA Flight Training handbook. I also designed and built N722, a two-seat, homemade jet aircraft.

Company Mission: It has always been Revolution Micro’s company mission to build the best, longest-lasting, and most cost-effective lights in horticulture.

Company’s most successful achievement: We have the lowest return rate in the industry, the lowest cost per uMole of light in horticulture, and the lowest operating cost of any 1000w-class light.

Has the company raised any capital (yes or no): Yes

If so, how much?: We recently secured a $2.5 million credit facility to fund stocking inventory in Atlanta.

Any plans on raising capital in the future? Yes

Most important company 5-year goal: It is Revolution Micro’s goal to become the dominant force in horticultural lighting to ensure cultivators are utilizing top-notch technology while saving money but not sacrificing quality.
