Marijuana sales in Missouri have leapt to an average of $4 million a day since the adult-use market joined the medical marijuana industry in February, surpassing $121 million last month alone.
According to statistics from the state Division of Cannabis Regulation, June sales topped $121.2 million, including $95.2 million in recreational cannabis and $26 million in medical marijuana. Sales in total since February reached $592.3 million, and the top sales month so far has been March, with $126.2 million.
The June figures follow a steady trend of combined medical and recreational sales coming in above $120 million each month since March, the state reported, and it averages out to just over $4 million a day since adult-use sales began on Feb. 3 through the end of June.
In May, the state passed the $1 billion in legal cannabis sales milestone, after launching its medical marijuana market in October 2020.
The legal marijuana trade has created roughly 16,000 jobs in Missouri, according to a report from industry association MoCannTrade, KMBC News reported.
