Before you pack your flip-flops and head to the beach for the rest of summer, Green Market Report is hosting its 2023 Finance Summit on August 3 in New York City. With the hurdles that many in the cannabis industry have faced over the past two years, it will be valuable to hear from some of the smartest people around.
The program kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with Jason Wild, executive chairman of TerrAscend, which recently uplisted on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Plus, you’ll get a chance to meet the people behind the NYC Cannabis Loan Fund: NYC/EDC. The group is looking for capital partners and a fund administrator. The goal of the Loan Fund is to provide flexible capital at below-market rates to cannabis businesses that are run by social and economic equity applicants who have been awarded licenses to operate in New York City. NYC/EDC will commit up to $8 million of subordinated loan capital at a 0% interest rate.
We’ll end the afternoon honoring some of the leaders of cannabis finance with the 2023 Green Market Report Finance Awards, followed by a cocktail party.
